We are all aware of the inconceivably devastating earthquake that struck China on May 12th and the subsequent aftershocks that seemed endless. News reports, although vital, cannot begin to fully convey the agony, despair, grief, and loss that people in the affected areas must be going through. Thousands of lives lost, families separated and displaced, children orphaned, buildings and infrastructure destroyed. Thankfully, all of the children in orphanages that FTIA has a working relationship are safe, but many other orphanages were damaged, the children and caregivers left in tents and without necessary supplies. Humanitarian aid will be needed on an ongoing basis for an indefinite length of time to help the affected orphanages rebuild and replenish needed supplies. Many have expressed their desire to provide aid to the children and orphanages in the affected areas. Childvision is coordinating an opportunity to help during this time of crisis!
Please click the “Donate” button below or mail a check payable to “Childvision” with “China Earthquake Relief” in the memo line. 100% of donations made in support of this effort will go directly to the China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) Child Caring Project. The CCAA has announced that these funds will be utilized with great care to provide help directly to the orphanages in the affected areas. We also expect to eventually receive a report from the CCAA detailing the use of our funds, which we will report back to you.
