WHAT ARE SOME FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES I COULD INITIATE?

School Fundraisers – Sometimes schools will designate a percentage of their fundraising activities to donate toward a cause.  Pitch to your child's school the idea of designating Childvision.  Schools may be interested in supporting our efforts due to our focus on educating children who do not have the benefit of a good education.

Recycling Fundraiser – Old cell phones, empty printer cartridges, and other waste can be recycled for cash rather than filling our landfills.  Organize a recycling fundraiser to raise funds for Childvision while simultaneously helping the environment!  There are many organizations that facilitate recycling fundraising for charities.  Several can be found at this link:  http://www.easy-fundraising-ideas.com/products/recycling-fundraisers .  Contact Childvision if interested, because we can work with you to help set it up! 

Themed Sales – Do you and several family members or friends need to clear out your basements or garages?  Are you a great cook?  Do you have a connection to a group of local artists?  Set up a bake sale, yard sale, art sale, or other themed sale to raise funds and spread the word about Childvision in your community!

Birthdays/Special Occasions – In lieu of gifts, ask family and friends to donate to Childvision in honor/celebration of a special day (birthday, anniversary of your child's adoption, etc.).

On-Site Work Groups In-Country – If you have the time and resources and wish to participate in a life changing experience, contact us about organizing a group of family members, friends, colleagues, or a social group to travel to one of the countries in which Childvision is working to provide hands-on assistance and support.  Individuals with medical, construction, and education backgrounds are especially needed.

World of Hope Gala Corporate Sponsors and Auction Donors – Become one yourself, and also invite others to support our Gala!  Organize a group of people willing to help us procure auction items or solicit corporate sponsors, split your group into teams, and have a competition to see which team can secure the most support for our Gala!  Again, contact us - we have materials to help you!

Your Business – If you own a business, you might consider designating a percentage of your sales for a certain period of time to support Childvision.  Show your customers that you are supporting a good cause and increase awareness of Childvision!

 

WHO CAN I GATHER TO HELP ME ACCOMPLISH THESE FUNDRAISING EFFORTS?

Adoption, Parenting, Cultural, and Other Groups – The members of your local adoption support group or parenting group or cultural group would be very likely to embrace Childvision's mission and want to help.  We can provide you materials to help you present your idea!

Adoption Travel Groups or Mission Groups – Groups who have traveled together internationally to adopt their children or to perform mission work share a unique bond, a true understanding of the need that exists, and a great appreciation for underserved children around the world.  Organizing a fundraising activity within your travel group is a great way to remain connected to your group and committed to the children who are left behind.

Churches – Churches often reach out to other cultures and support charities by raising funds, collecting donated items, organizing mission trips / work trips, etc.  Educate your church about Childvision!  We can send you materials and assist you in presenting your idea.

Family/Friends/Social Events – Family reunions, holiday gatherings, social or professional groups….  Coordinate one of the above fundraising activities/events in conjunction with your next gathering of family/friends/colleagues!

Your Workplace – Companies are often looking for ways to build camaraderie among their team members and to support worthwhile causes, but many do not have the financial resources to donate a large amount of their operating funds toward these goals.  Organizing a fundraising effort for Childvision at your place of work can foster teamwork and increase morale, and at the same time your company can feel proud that they have accomplished something tangible to support a worthwhile cause without having to invest a large amount of money.
